Brian Monteith
Brian Monteith is a former member of the Scottish Parliament, where he was convenor of the Audit Committee for four years, and the European Parliament, when as the British MEP with the highest vote share in the European elections he became Chief Whip for the Brexit Party group and served as a member of the Fisheries Committee.
Previously a public relations consultant for over thirty-five years – Brian has worked in Africa, South Asia and the Caribbean as well as Scotland and the City of London. He has written and contributed to many books on Scottish and UK politics and currently edits the websites thinkscotland.org and Brexit-watch.org. He has considerable experience in referendum campaigns, starting in 1979 when he ran the Student Campaign Against the Devolution Act, then in 1997 founded and was Campaign Manager for Think Twice, the campaign for a No No vote in the devolution referendum. In 2016 he was seconded by the think-tank Global Britain to be director of Communications for Leave.EU.
Brian has been a weekly columnist in The Scotsman for eleven years and also writes fortnightly for CityAM.
