Colin Clark
Former Scottish Office minister Colin Clark enjoyed a successful career in the agrifood sector as a company director and then business owner, before selling his £20m turnover company in 2005 and becoming a serial investor in farming, food manufacturing, property and engineering companies. He also served as Company Chairman of Nessgro, a significant agrifood supplier to U.K. retailers.
Colin became a Scottish Conservative councillor for Aberdeenshire in 2016 and was subsequently elected as Member of Parliament for Gordon at the 2017 general election. He served on the Treasury Select Committee, participating in regular scrutiny of Her Majesty’s Treasury, The Bank of England, FCA and OBR and was appointed PPS for the Department of Work & Pensions and Lord Commissioner to Her Majesty’s Treasury.
From July until December 2019, Colin served as Under Secretary of State for Scotland, working in the Scotland Office managing the relationship between UK and devolved Scottish ministers and overseeing a departmental portfolio including: energy, oil & gas; renewables; food & drink; agriculture; fisheries and; City Region Deals.
