Independent, non-party business group Scottish Business UK (SBUK) has announced a significant expansion of its Advisory Council, with the appointment of 10 new members.
The appointments bring the total current strength of the SBUK Advisory Council to 36 members, covering diverse sectors including Scotch whisky, construction, accountancy, transport, journalism, commercial printing, economics and politics.
Welcoming the latest appointments, SBUK founder and chairman Robert D Kilgour said:
“Our aim has been to build an experienced, talented group of leaders with diverse backgrounds and political perspectives to work together and help develop the business case for keeping Scotland in the UK. I look forward to working with them as we argue that case in the months ahead.”
SBUK Chief Executive Struan Stevenson added:
“It is brilliant to have yet another new injection of talent and insight for the SBUK Advisory Council. I would urge other business leaders to get involved if they agree that the ongoing campaign to take Scotland out of the Union is the last thing our economy needs at this most challenging of times for companies.”
